Can't believe I've been away from home as we reached the denouement.

I actually got quite emotional looking at the ones below. I know the ending virtually off by heart, and your images generated waves of feelings in me. Congratulations.

This piece is another deliberate echoing, of a sort, of the illustration for page 521. Ahab maddened, and Ahab true to himself. They look quite intriguing side by side.

Titus, it has always been in the back of my mind that you, and several other regular commenters and visitors, know this novel so well. It has been a real pleasure to create these illustrations for that group of you in particular, knowing how deeply familiar you are with the story. And it means even more to me that these pieces are able to touch people's hearts the way they do mine. It's an odd thing but I too have gotten quite emotional looking at my own pieces, which has never happened before this. It will be sadder than I could have imagined to finally lay the pens and brushes down at the end.
